I have another beer inspired recipe to share with you, a Philly Cheese Steak Beer Casserole. Say what girl? Yeah it’s a beer casserole and it’s delightful!
So this casserole is slightly time consuming and takes a lot of ingredients but when you’re done you’re going to high five yourself as well as anyone in the room with you.
This recipe was inspired by Rcky Mntn Prncs.
This recipe is done in parts as are the ingredients. So I am going to give this a try, list the ingredients and then the steps that correspond to those ingredients. If it is confusing the original recipe can be found through the link above.
Part 1:
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 green peppers (sliced)
1 large onion (sliced thin)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a pan
Add the green peppers and onions
Season with salt, garlic powder and ground black pepper
Cook until soft and set aside
Part 2:
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 lbs rib-eye steak (slice thin)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a pan
Add the steak to the pan
Season with salt, garlic powder and ground black pepper
Cook until all pink is gone and set aside
Part 3:
3/4 loaf of Italian Bread (torn in to pieces)
Line 13 X 9 pan in torn bread pieces
Layer steak pieces over bread
Layer onions and green peppers over the steak and bread
Set aside
Part 4:
5 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup flour
12 oz beer
2 tablespoons hot sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons ground black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
1 1/2 cup milk
1 cup shredded Monterey Jack Cheese
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
8 oz Provolone cheese (sliced)
Melt the butter in a sauce pan. Whisk in the flour and then add the beer. Whisk until there are no lumps. Add in the hot sauce, ground black pepper, garlic powder, parsley, onion powder, salt, paprika, Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce.
Next add the milk in slowly as the mixture thickens. Then add in the Monterey Jack and cheddar cheeses. Stir until all the cheese is melted and then pour over the casserole ingredients in the pan. Lastly layer the provolone cheese slices over the top and place in the oven. Bake for 20 minutes.
