I think given the amount of time I spent in Arches I covered a lot of ground, considering I was not there for even a full day. I did not get in every spot I wanted to, but I got in the main attractions.
I got to see Delicate Arch
And The Windows
Although I was bummed that I decided to skip the hike into Fiery Furnace, a ranger led only hike, I still got to see the mysterious rock formations that make up the furnace.
Balance Rock is probably one of the most recognizable rock formations in Arches, aside from Delicate Arch. Balance Rock is a must see and conveniently located right next to the road with a short trail leading you around the rock.
Arches are found all over the park, like Landscape Arch, one of the less than sturdy looking arches. In 1991 a large slab of rock broke off from Landscape Arch. Luckily no one was hurt but it did result in the trail no longer passing under the arch.
Also seen along the trail out to Landscape Arch is the Tunnel Arch.
Near The Windows you can see the Parade of Elephants. Do you see the elephant?
Considering the mountainous terrain I was surprised to find such a wide open space once I arrived in the park.
I always love the silvery grey trees against the rich orange color of the sandstone in Utah.
The desert fauna is not only hearty but also beautiful!
The sandstone along Park Avenue has a chic zig-zag pattern to it.
And lastly, ironically as it greets you at the entrance, the National Park sign for Arches.
