International UFO Museum and Research Center
A white orb zipped across the sky in front of me as I drove along the highway. It was round in shape and could not be confused with an aircraft. Even if it were a plane, it’s movement was quick and nimble, unlike any plane I had ever seen. Had I just seen a UFO?
This sighting of the white orb happened in my early 20’s near Post Falls Idaho. By the time I had reached my home, about an hour later, there were several reports of people seeing a white light in the sky on the local news. And while spotting unidentified flying objects is not necessarily the norm, it is also not unheard of. UFO sightings are reported almost daily according to the website UFO Sighting Daily. Although considering the name of their website it might be surprising if UFOs were not reported daily. When researching the white orb from my 20’s I found the National UFO Reporting Center website. Here I read about multiple UFO sightings in Idaho, dating all the way back to July 1947.
1947 is a year of significance when it comes to UFOs. July 1947 was also the month and year of the Roswell UFO incident. Whether it was a weather balloon or an actual spaceship inclusive of visitors from outer space, we will never know. But this has not stopped the curiosity of many. Movies, TV shows and documentaries have all been centered around what may have happened that day.

Alien life in Roswell
Capitalizing on our curiosity of visitors from outer space is the town of Roswell New Mexico. They leave no stone upturned when it comes to playing up their assets. Most restaurants, hotels and shopping centers have some sort of alien representation. Friendly alien statues wave at arriving tourists to the town. Even the McDonald’s takes it to the extreme with their Spaceship themed restaurant. Sorry I didn’t stop and take a photo, chalk it up to me being overwhelmed by all things alien.

International UFO Museum and Research Center
The purpose of my trip to Roswell was to visit the International UFO Museum and Research Center. The museum is fairly decent in size, filled with abduction cases, reported sightings and representation of what aliens could look like. If you are a detailed museum goer you are going to spend some quality time during your visit digging through all of the information they have.

Photographic Evidence Of UFOs
I found the Photographic Evidence exhibit one of the more interesting exhibits. And while a photo can of course be doctored, these grainy images had me wondering more about extraterrestrial life. In the photos of the UFOs, most were different in size, but all saucer-shaped, as we most often associate with UFOs.

Chart of different UFOs
A few exhibits away was a chart of several documented UFOs. These UFOs were much more detailed and varied in size and shape. Being that most of them did not look similar, it had me thinking about the possibilities of visitors from multiple outer space colonies. If Star Trek and Star Wars taught us anything, of course this could be true.

The alien group puts on a show
There is some slight hokiness to the museum that can not be overlooked. Especially when the group of aliens, who are found in the center of the museum, put on a sort of outer space boy-band performance. Granted no songs are preformed but they do look somewhat like they are “working for the weekend”.

A Foo Fighter
Speaking of bands. As a lover of 1990’s grunge rock a small diorama caught my eye while I was at the museum. The name of the flying saucer diorama was Nazi Foo Fighter 1945?. Oddly enough the 1990’s grunge band Foo Fighters is actually named after the Foo Fighters from World War II.
According to the Roswell UFO Museum website there was another alien saucer that had crashed ten years before the Roswell incident in 1937 Germany. The reports documented that Hitler and Heinrich Himmler invested much effort into replicating the anti-gravity technology that they had found from this crashed saucer. There was even mention of them trying to figure out time travel from that saucer. YIKES!
It was said that the Germans developed the technology into a disk like craft and possibility used it during WWII. During the war there were many reports of flying saucers by Allied pilots. Sightings were often of an orange glowing ball tracking the planes. It was believed that the glowing orange balls were Foo Fighters.
While visiting The International UFO Museum and Research Center as well as further research, I realized that there is a common theme when it comes to extraterrestrial life. There does not seem to be any clarity as to what is true, what could be covered up, and what is false. I personally believe in aliens. I mean really how can we be the only planet that has life on it? That would be crazy, out of all of the planets and solar systems out there, we’re it. It would also be incredibly sad if we are the only ones out there. Sure we have each other, but we are basically a crazy cat lady stuck at home on a Friday night with no plans.

Open sign for the museum
The International UFO Museum and Research Center is a must do if you are even the slightest bit curious about extraterrestrial life. Another added benefit, the museum is dog friendly! Leashed dogs are welcomed inside the museum. The museum is open seven days a week from 9 to 5 pm except for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day. The museum is located at 114 North Main Street.
